Thank you. I did this years ago when I was learning watercolor. I’ve often thought about painting this again now that I’ve learned more techniques. This is my son who is 16 now.😀

I appreciate your kind comments everyone. These black eyed susans grow in front of the house I used to live in. I took a series of 5 or so photos of my son investigating these flowers. I am glad that I was about to capture the feeling of the moment in this painting.

You very successfully captured the tender curiosity of a child. Well done!

Love the hair and the way the wisps are so real and beautifully backlit. As well, the realism is there but without looking fake or cut and paste. Instead, I can almost feel his baby breath, his damp little curls on the back of his neck and smell the clean cotton of his jumper. He is so lifelike you just know how wonderful it would be to pick him up and nuzzle those cheeks. Fantastic.

the innocent curiosity of a child .....my niece is just about the same age I think..I remember how she was checking out her first Barbie doll in her f birthday and talking to us with her new found baby words :) ......probably the purest form of love and beauty in this world....a child's innocence ...u captured it so beautifully here :)
